WOODBURY – Across Long Island on Dec. 18, school buses filled with toys and volunteers delivered presents and smiles to sick children.
The Cheer Buses were from a group called “Kids Need More,” which is dedicated to helping families of kids with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
“They might be struggling with a diagnosis or treatment, this can be something that really brightens the day or brightens the season. It also brightens the season for all of these volunteers,” says Melissa Firmes, executive director of “Kids Need More.”
